Robin first learned beading at 16 yrs old from her mother‐in‐law Sandra Shield. Sandra was taught by her mother Dorothy Holds the Enemy, who was taught by her mother Myrtle Door. Robin’s art is inspired by older floral and geometric designs and by the traditional teachings of her elders. Through fading color combinations and transposing older designs with newer patterns, she has developed a style uniquely her own.
“Beading is something I truly love to do…it brings me pure excitement to see my finished pieces. It is such an honor to have learned from such wonderful, traditional women. I would want nothing more than to make each of them proud and carry on this legacy of creating such exquisite pieces of art.”
